In late 2006, Judd Laird approached Kyle Kennedy, founder of a broker-dealer firm specializing in taking companies public, with an opportunity to support the exploration of a potentially significant shipwreck off the coast of Florida. After months of due diligence, Mr. Kennedy saw potential in the venture and formed a partnership with Tulco Resources to pursue the project.
With a clear strategy in mind, Mr. Kennedy developed a plan to secure funding, take the company public, and conduct a systematic exploration of the site. Reports from maritime specialists suggested the possibility of valuable historical artifacts, and the discovery of Ming dynasty porcelain near Juno Beach reinforced the site’s potential importance.
This partnership marked the beginning of Seafarer Exploration Corp, a company dedicated to the pursuit of maritime discovery. What started as an effort to investigate a promising wreck site laid the groundwork for what would become a long-term commitment to advancing underwater exploration, historical research, and rescue archaeology.
